The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. One of the five biggest sales of 2010 took the top spot on our leader board and we also saw the year’s biggest .info sale to date

Francois Carrillo Scores Another Nice Domain Flip

Francois Carrillo of PremiumDomains.com and Domaining.com scored another nice flip today selling the one-word domain Optimize.com for $115,000.  According to the domain sales history data from NameBio.com Carrillo purchased the domain for $24,650 in February of 2008. Carrillo recently sold another domain for a quicker flip. He bought Pepe.com for $15,000 on Bido and sold it within a couple of months for 60,000 Euros , netting a healthy $40,000+ profit on the sale. Update:  The new owner of Optimize.com will not be an SEO company as one might expect

MusicVideos.com Sells for $250,000, .Info Snags $24,000

MusicVideos.com takes home prize, but good .co.uk and .info domain sales as well. Sedo completed well over $1 million in domain name transactions last week, including helping Yahoo! sell MusicVideos.com for $250,000

Huffington Post Gets In On Top Domain Name Story

With the buzz circulating around the upcoming Sex.com sale, mainstream press is picking up the story of  “the world’s most expensive domains”.  Several people contacted us to tell us about CNN running the Sex.com domain sale on the ticker this morning. Now HuffPo is getting in on the story with their take on the top domain sales .  They’ve included a couple domains on their list that many reading will point out were more than just domain sales (insure.com,casino.com, fund.com ).  The story actually looks like it may have been sourced from the Daily Telegraph story from today.  See I told you that everyone is getting in on this story.

Myths about sales prices grow like weeds. With Sex.com hitting the auction block next week , mainstream media are in a tizzy writing about the auction of the “world’s most valuable domain name”. As usual, they’re comparing it to other big ticket domain sales. The only problem is that many of the sales they refer to have misleading sales figures. The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. Guns.com staged a clean getaway – topping the chart with a sale that was 8 times bigger than the runner up (which was also a six-figure domain). 6 ccTLDS also muscled their way onto the new Top 20 Chart, along with a pair of .net henchmen.

Guagua.com Sells for $100k, Pepe.com Sells Again

Guagua.com hits six figures, Domaining.com owner scores nice sale. Sedo has sold the domain name Guagua.com for $100,000. Guagua has a number of different meanings , including being the name of a language and a municipality in the Phillipines. The company also helped broker the sale of Pepe.com for 45,000 EUR. It looks like Francois Carrillo of Domaining.com scored a nice flip on this domain name.

Peddle to the Metal: $165,000 Sale at Sedo Wins This Week’s Domain Aftermarket Race 

The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. A 165K sale at Sedo scored a runaway win in this week’s aftermarket race. Four ccTLDs and a pair of .nets broke through the strong .com defensive line to join 14 .coms on our new Top 20 Chart. Two of those country codes crashed the top ten.
